This blog comes from both my resistance to dead white guys and my new found appreciation for their work. As a post feminist feminist I am finding that many of my contemporaries are not interested in hearing from those who have leveraged their privilege before us and left behind great cultural artifacts to build on.
My resistance came in part out of fear of encountering some enraging sexist statement that would remind me of our past and current state in the world.
At this point, I can recognize the value of these works as vital for our culture to grow on.
